Feature Show: Beyond: Surviving Winter
Beyond: Surviving Winter
A Group Exhibition at Umbra Arts
May 2 – May 28, 2026
Winter doesn't just arrive in the air—it settles into the body, the community, the political moment. It asks something of us: endure. But endurance is only the beginning.
Beyond: Surviving Winter is a group exhibition exploring what it means to survive harsh conditions—environmental, emotional, and political—and what emerges on the other side. As the season turns, this show asks artists to reflect on the weight of winter in all its forms: the cold that tests us, the systems that exhaust us, and the quiet acts of resistance that keep us alive.
We are not only interested in survival. We are interested in what survival becomes—defiance, adaptation, emergence. Spring is more than a season here; it is a symbol. Of renewal. Of regrowth. Of what takes root after long hardship.
This exhibition holds space for transformation—personal and collective, intimate and systemic. The artists in this show create from lived experience, engage with their communities, and use art as a tool for visibility, protest, and change. Their work asks: How do we rebuild? What grows after the thaw? How do acts of resistance shape new futures?
This is an uncensored adult exhibition. Works in the gallery may include nudity, kink, and mature themes.
