Feature Show: The Bazaar Inconceivable
A Group Art Exhibition at Umbra Arts

Umbra Arts is holding open invitations for artists to apply to enter The Bazaar Inconceivable, a dark, kinky celebration of desire, fantasy, and the macabre.
We're seeking intriguing, sensual, and amusingly odd works that reveal what hides beneath the mundane day to day and celebrate the hidden. Think of the Bazaar as a midnight market of curiosities: part haunted house, part dungeon, part cabinet of wonders. Every piece is a stall with a secret.
Bring us your beautiful monsters, your velvet and leather, your tender perversions, your jokes that are a little too dark. Spooky, sexy, strange, or all three at once, we want the work you don't show everyone.
Who We're Looking For
Artists whose work:
- Explores desire, fantasy, kink, fetish, or the erotic
- Leans into the macabre, the spooky, and the uncanny
- Finds humor and delight in the odd and unexpected
- Reveals what hides beneath the everyday
- Reflects a strong personal style and artistic voice
Important Participation Requirements
- Must be 18+ to apply and participate
- Must be based in the Twin Cities metro area
- Must be able to drop off and pick up artwork in person
- Artists must confirm understanding that:
- This is an uncensored adult gallery
- Exhibited works may include nudity, kink, and adult themes
- All people depicted in submitted work must be adults (18+) who consented to being depicted
- Submitted work must be your own original work. The application asks about any use of generative AI.
- Selected artists will sign an Umbra Arts artist agreement before the show
Artwork Guidelines
- Submit up to 5 pieces
- Most mediums welcome: painting, drawing, digital, photography, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, leatherwork, ceramics, mixed media, zines, wearables, and more
- Wall-hung pieces and small pedestal works fit the space best
- Very large, installation-based, or powered pieces are welcome to apply; just tell us about them in the application so we can talk it through
- Pieces must be finished and gallery-ready, with hanging hardware attached where needed
How to Apply
The application takes about 10 minutes. Have these ready:
- High-resolution images of each piece (JPG or PNG, named with the artwork title)
- Title, medium, dimensions, year, and price (or NFS) for each piece
- A short artist statement or bio (150 words max)
Uploading images requires signing in to a Google account. If that's a problem, the form also accepts a link to your images.
